Savory Tomato Soup


Cooked ground beef, carrots, and your choice of another cooked vegetable are heated in a mixture of tomato juice, herbs (marjoram, basil, savory and thyme), and bottled hot pepper sauce.



Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef  
  • 28 ounces tomato juice  
  • 1 cup sliced carrots, cooked and drained  
  • 1 cup other vegetable (green beans, potatoes, etc.), cooked and drained  1/2 t. marjoram  
  • 1/2 t. basil  
  • 1/4 t. savory  
  • 1/4 t. thyme  
  • 1/8 t. bottled hot pepper sauce  
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • Water

Method

Brown meat in Dutch oven. Stir in tomato juice, cooked vegetables, and seasonings. Add water to desired consistency. Cover; heat through.
