Quick 'n' Easy Lasagna Soup

This soup tastes like lasagna, and it has many of the traditional ingredients--including Italian sausage, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, pasta and both parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound mild/sweet bulk Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 2 cans (14 ounces each) beef broth
- 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked corkscrew pasta
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method
In large pan, cook beef and sausage over medium heat until browned. Add garlic, onion and green pepper and cook 3-4 minutes or until onion and green pepper are softened. Drain off fat. Add broth, tomatoes, salt, and Italian seasoning; heat to boiling. Stir in pasta. Cook over medium heat about 12 minutes, or until pasta is cooked. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Place soup in 4 bowls. Sprinkle each bowl with mozzarella cheese.
Notes: I love anything Italian, especially lasagna. This soup tastes like that favorite Italian pasta dish. And it's very easy to prepare. It's fast enough to make for a week night dinner, after getting home from work.
