Tender bites of pork seasoned with jalapeno, cilantro and salsa in a creamy sauce. Serve in bowls or with warm tortillas.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups diced pork
  • 1/2 cup chopped jalapeno peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/3 cup masa flour
  • 2 packages pork gravy mix
  • 16 oz jar salsa
  • 2 cups water

Method

In a frying pan, fry pork until fully cooked. In a saucepan, boil jalapenos in water about 15 minutes then drain. In a separate saucepan, stir gravy mix into 1 cup water and bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 7 minutes. Place pork, jalapenos and gravy in a crockpot. In a medium bowl, combine flour with 1 cup water. Stir thoroughly, and then stir into mixture in crockpot. Add salsa and cook, simmering, for at least 2 hours. Stir in cilantro and let simmer an additional 10 minutes. Serve in bowls, or rolled in warm tortillas.

Notes: I used to think this was an adult taste, but every time I make it, the kids are the first in line for seconds.
