This appetizer soup combines canned pumpkin, split pea soup, milk and cream, then adds shrimp and crabmeat, plus sherry and nutmeg.

  • Servings: 8-10


8 oz Canned Pumpkin Puree
8 oz Canned Split Pea Soup
6 oz (3/4 Cup) Whole Milk
6 oz (3/4 Cup) Half-and-half or Light Cream
1 lb Small To Medium Shrimp, cooked and cleaned
½ lb Cooked or Canned Crabmeat
¼ cup Dry Sherry
Sea Salt & Freshly Ground Pepper, to taste


Combine and heat pumpkin, pea soup, milk, and half-and-half in a large pot. Add shrimp and crabmeat; heat for a few more minutes. Just before serving, stir in sherry, nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Helpful Tips:

Do not allow the bisque to boil at any point. Makes a delightful appetizer to a holiday meal.
