Hickory Hot Chili

This chili combines canned hickory-flavored sloppy Joe filling with ground chuck, tomato juice, Rotel tomatoes, bottled hot pepper sauce, chili seasoning mix and chili powder. Canned pinto and kidney beans are added toward the end of the cooking time..
Ingredients
- 3 lbs ground chuck
- 1 can pinto beans
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 quart tomato juice
- 1/2 of a can of hickory flavor sloppy joes
- 1 can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 cup of desired hot sauce (not salsa; I like to use Taco Bell brand hot sauce)
- 1 package McCormick's chili seasoning mix
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/2 cup water

Method
Fry ground chuck and drain; add tomato juice, the half can hickory sloppy Joes, Rotel tomatoes, hot sauce, chili powder, and chili seasoning. Cook on low for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 10 minutes; add 1/2 cup water. Put pinto and kidney beans in strainer and rinse. Add to chili and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes.
Notes: Add salt and pepper to ground chuck when frying.
