Hail Mary Chili

A rich, meaty chili served with macaroni, onion, jalapeno peppers and plenty of cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground sirloin
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 fresh jalapeno
- 4 28 oz cans diced tomatoes
- 4 28 oz cans tomato sauce
- 4 14.5 oz cans red kidney beans
- 4 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp basil
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 lb macaroni
- 2 cups mild cheddar cheese
- 1 jar jalapeno sices, optional
- 1 diced onion, optional

Method
In a large cooking pot, brown ground sirloin with green pepper, red pepper, garlic and jalapeno pepper. Once browned, drain and return to pot. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and beans to pot then stir well. Add chili powder, salt, basil, pepper and cayenne pepper then stir well. Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and cover. Cook 2 hours stirring occasionally. When chili has about 15 minutes left to cook, boil macaroni according to box directions. To serve place some cooked macaroni in a bowl and ladle chili on top. Top chili with cheese. You can also top with jalapeno slices and onion if desired.
