Green Chili
Submitted by: mexican mama
Cubes of pork are slowly cooked in a flour-thickened mixture of tomatoes, green chilies, and cumin.
Ingredients
- 2 pork steaks, cut into cubes
- 2 cans chopped green chilies
- 1 large can tomatoes, chopped
- 1 can of water
- Flour to thicken (I use the fine sift kind such as Wondra)
- 1 tsp ground cumin

Method
Brown pork steaks in skillet or fry pan. Drain excess grease. After browning, add flour and cumin to drippings and stir. Add green chilies, tomatoes, and water. Simmer 1 to 2 hours; it's better if simmered the longer amount of time.
Notes: I have made it with a couple cans of the tomatoes and chilies too. But the above recipe is the best. Serve over bean burritos, or eat as a soup with flour tortillas.
Number of Servings: 4 servings
