5 Hour Stew Soup


Just mix stew beef, tomatoes, and vegetables and burgundy if you wish and let cook for 5 hours in the oven.



Ingredients:

  • 3 C. beef stew meat(sirloin works best)
  • l C. burgundy(optional)
  • l C. chopped celery, cut on slant l l/2"
  • 2 C. tomatoes or tomato sauce
  • 3 T. minute tapioca
  • l T. sea salt
  • l/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • l T. sugar
  • l small can mushrooms
  • 2 carrots, sliced thin
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • As many potatoes as you like, chopped in l/2 cubes

Method

Mix all ingredients and put in a small roaster pan. For a more robust flavor, add l C. of burgundy. Cover and bake at 250F for 5 hours; or cook in large crock pot for 8-10 hours on high.

Notes: This is a delicious, hardy main course that may be prepared in 20 minutes. Fix it in a crock pot overnight while you sleep and have a nutritious, delicious meal ready to go for the days you don't have time to cook. This recipe is a favorite at my house where meat and potatoes are king.
